Martin Foley MP, Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing will open the forum, which will share information about Changing Places facilities and the positive social inclusion impacts they are having in the community.
The forum will showcase best practice Changing Places facilities, which are larger than standard accessible toilets. They have extra features, such as a height adjustable adult sized changing bench and a tracking hoist system, with more space to meet the needs of people with a disability and their carers.
The forum will incorporate a program targeted at architects, planners, developers, designers, access consultants, facility managers, policy makers, local government and anyone with an interest in removing barriers to social inclusion for people with high support needs.
Areas covered will include:
- Universal Design
- Economic benefits
- Social benefits
- Changing Places case studies
- Carer’s perspectives
- Victorian Government Changing Places funding
