We are pleased to announce that Access Institute has been appointed to deliver the Changing Places Assessor Course – (Accessible Adult Change Facilities).
The aim of the Changing Places Assessor course is to provide appropriate training to professionals wishing to understand and apply the Changing Places Design Specifications 2020 and to become registered as a Changing Places Assessor.
The role of the Changing Places Assessor is to conduct assessments of designs and As-built facilities against the performance requirements detailed in the Changing Places Design Specifications 2020, and to confirm compliance with these.
Each assessment involves a review of the design or As-built facility against the requirements of the Changing Places Design Specifications 2020 utilising a detailed Assessment Form, to confirm compliance.
The course will also address compliance with the requirements for Accessible Adult Change Facilities (AACF) as per the National Construction Code (NCC).
Anyone can undertake the course and open book online exam, however only Specified Professionals are eligible to become registered as Changing Places Assessors and issue Certificates of Compliance for accreditation of Changing Places facilities across Australia.
The next course is scheduled for Tuesday 17th August 1 – 4 p.m. Melbourne time, live online via Zoom.
