If you haven’t already done so we recommend that you check the Changing Places Design
Specifications 2020 to see if your question is covered.
If you have already engaged an assessor for your facility, your assessor is the first point of call.

What is an MLAK? How do I apply for one?
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system is a Master Locksmiths Association of
Australasia (MLAA) initiative that allows people with disability access to dedicated public facilities.
Many Changing Places facilities require a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) in order to use
the facility, and to keep the facility in clean and good working order for people who need to use the
facilities.

An MLAK can be ordered from the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia Ltd by completing
the MLAK Order Form. The key can be purchased by people with disabilities, their carers, support
workers, and Changing Places facility owners.
It is recommended that facility managers arrange to have an MLAK available in a location near the
Changing Places facility at all times the venue is open to the public

Am I able to use the logo and branding of Changing Places?
Only Registered facilities are able to use the Changing Places logo and branding for signage,
and promotional materials to promote the facility (for example on your website or for flyers and
posters). The logo and other brand assets can be sourced by emailing us:
info@changingplacesaust.org.au. We will be happy to review and proof your products for quality
assurance when developed.

How do I promote my facility?
There are many ways to promote your facility, such as having an official opening, including your
opening in your own and the Changing Places Australia newsletter/e-newsletters, social media
posts, website announcements, videos etc. We love promoting new facilities so be sure to get in
touch with us so we can help.

How do I get my Marveloo and Placeable Pod event information on the website? How do I
update it?

The Think HQ team reach out to Marveloo and Placeable Pod owners every three months to
update our listings on the Changing Places website. Some councils have chosen to include our
email address into on their booking confirmation emails, which allows us to be automatically
notified when a Marveloo/Placeable Pod is hired out and then we have accurate updated listings.

What are the best practices for cleaning/maintenance?
A. We recommend that you include cleaning and maintenance in line with your other amenities
cleaning protocols. Equipment such as hoist and change table should be regularly serviced in
accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
