Maroondah Council has partnered with the Planning Institute of Australia, City of Melbourne and the Municipal Association of Victoria to host Changing Places, Changing Lives, a forum to showcase world’s best practice in accessible toilet and bathroom solutions through Changing Places and will feature leading edge Australian examples. The forum will take place on 11th September at Federation Square.
The forum will bring together expert presenters from a range of backgrounds to discuss the many community and business benefits of Changing Places. Speakers include the Hon. Mary Wooldridge MP (Minister for Mental Health, Community Services, Disability Services and Reform), Jill Garner (Associate Victorian Government Architect), Andrew Lannen (Portfolio General Manager QIC), Francesa Davenport (Principal of HSPC Disability Access Consultancy), Fiona Smith (Public Interest Lawyer), Dr Rachael McDonald (Centre for Developmental Disability Health Victoria) and Joan Gains (Founding Member, Cerebral Palsy Support Network).
The program is targeted at architects, planners, developers, designers, access consultants, facility managers, policy makers and anyone with an interest in removing barriers to social inclusion for people with a profound disability.
