After four years, and the establishment of 50 Changing Places facilities across Australia, the Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) will formally end its role in the management of the Changing Places initiative on Friday the 11th of May.

With the support of the Victorian Government, ACD have continued to grow Changing Places exponentially into what is now a national initiative supporting people with a disability, their families and carers.

In early 2018 ACD recognised that it was no longer be best placed to be able to support the Changing Places initiative into the future, and have been working for the past 3 months with our funders at DHHS to facilitate a smooth transition of management for current stakeholders.

Following the 11th of May, interim management of the Changing Places initiative will be undertaken by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. The Changing Places website (changingplaces.org.au) and social media channels will continue to be maintained and updated throughout this period. Enquiries regarding Changing Places should be directed in the first instance to the website or to changingplaces@dhhs.vic.gov.au

Following this transition, ACD will continue to be a passionate supporter of the Changing Places initiative, and encourage our member families to access these facilities and to advocate for new locations. We are delighted to see the growth of the program nationally in our time of management and look forward to Changing Places continuing to grow and draw support from across Australia.
